Torrington

Torrington is a renovation just outside Austin for a family who wanted color and were not scared of it. We took them at their word. The living room got a rust velvet sofa, a lavender chaise, a leopard pillow that started as a joke and stayed, and a fireplace wrapped in blue and white Delft tile that we are still a little smug about.

The bones were already good, so most of the work was editing. Sheers went floor to ceiling to let the light in and calm the rooms down. The bar got a curtain instead of a door. We hung an old painting of covered wagons over the mantel because it felt like it had always been there, which is the whole point. Finished in 2026 and photographed this fall.
